Role overview
This role focuses on designing and scaling the data platform that powers the company’s core products. The engineer will build and maintain integrations with third-party systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS, payroll), develop reliable data pipelines, and improve observability across the platform. You will own integrations end-to-end, from design and implementation to monitoring and ongoing reliability. The position requires strong backend and data engineering skills, with an emphasis on distributed systems, API design, and handling external dependencies. You will also collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize integrations and ensure high data quality and system performance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience building production-grade software
- Strong experience with backend systems, APIs, and integrations
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or data infrastructure
- Experience working with third-party APIs and distributed systems
- Understanding of reliability, observability, and system scalability
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and drive projects independently
- Nice to have: experience with HRIS/ATS/payroll integrations and tools like Airflow, dbt, or Fivetran
- Tech stack familiarity (nice to have): TypeScript, Node.js, MySQL, Redis
Responsibilities:
- Design and build integrations with external enterprise systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS, payroll platforms)
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines
- Own integrations end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and issue resolution
- Improve system observability (monitoring, alerting, debugging tools)
- Identify and resolve reliability and scalability issues across the data platform
- Collaborate with product and business teams to prioritize the integration roadmap
